Music Centres Celebrate a Year of Outstanding Success

One of the standout successes of the year has been the selection of the Boston Jazz Orchestra and Pop Choir to perform at the prestigious Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham on 11 July. Being chosen to attend the national festival is a significant achievement, recognising the talent, dedication and hard work of both ensembles. The event brings together some of the most outstanding young musicians from across the country and provides an exciting platform for performers to showcase their skills on a national stage.

The Boston Jazz Orchestra has continued to impress audiences with its high-quality performances and musicianship, while the Pop Choir has gone from strength to strength, captivating listeners with its energy, enthusiasm and diverse repertoire. Their selection for the festival reflects the commitment of both students and tutors throughout the year.

Adding to the celebrations, the Great Grantham Big Band represented Lincolnshire at the Lincoln Jazz Festival in July. The ensemble delivered a well-received performance, demonstrating the depth of musical talent being nurtured within the county’s Music Centre programme. Performing alongside experienced musicians and established jazz groups, the band showcased a confident and exciting programme that was enjoyed by festival audiences.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Music Centre has enjoyed a particularly successful year with a series of engaging and popular Saturday Sessions. These specialist days have provided young musicians with opportunities to develop their skills, perform with others and explore new musical styles.

The sessions included dedicated days for Musical Theatre, Rock and Pop, and Jazz, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across the region.
