The Music Club has been created especially for children and young people who are currently in care. Following feedback from our young people last summer, we were delighted to launch our first Music Club in March in partnership with Lincolnshire Virtual School.
This pilot club offers a safe, supportive and creative space where children in care can explore music together. Initially, sessions will focus on singing and songwriting, with plenty of opportunities for you to share your ideas so the club continues to reflect your interests and feels enjoyable, welcoming and supportive.
Who is the Music Club for?
This club is open to children and young people currently in care, in Year 6 to Year 11, who have an interest in singing or songwriting.
When does it run?
- Mondays
- 4.30 – 6.00pm
What to expect
- A friendly welcome at 4.30pm with refreshments available
- Singing and music-making, exploring a range of songs and styles
- Your ideas helping to shape the songs and activities each week
- A mid-session break with refreshments
- A quiet space available if you need time out
- Optional opportunities to work towards a live performance or recording
- Time at the end of each session to reflect on what you’ve enjoyed and suggest ideas for the future
Who will support you?
Sessions are supported by a team of experienced adults from Lincolnshire Music Service and Lincolnshire Virtual School, ensuring there is plenty of support available throughout.
Cost
The Music Club is completely free. It is funded by Lincolnshire Music Service, MEHEM UpRising / Youth Music and Lincolnshire Virtual School, and is offered as part of our Music Centre activities for children in care.
