Music Connector
We are delighted to be part of Young Sounds UK Connector Network. This is a network of Music Education experts across England whose role is to connect young people and families with musical experiences in their local area.

I was born into a musical family- my mother and grandmother both playing with local brass bands and encouraged me to start learning the cornet at aged 4, by aged 8 I was given a french horn by my uncle, an instrument which I quickly came to love! I played with local brass bands and joined my local music centre which inspired me to continue studying music at university. I won a place on french horn at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) but realised I wanted to teach so changed courses in third year to Lancaster University, studying musicology, before embarking on my teacher training at Bangor University. I have since worked at Head of Music in secondary schools before joining Lincolnshire Music Service as a tutor and recently taken up the Connector work with Young Sounds. I enjoy playing the french horn in local orchestras and taking part in chamber music, walking on the beach, gardening and spending time with my two young children. I am passionate about music education and musical opportunities being accessible to everyone from all backgrounds.
