Lincolnshire Primary Schools Invited to Take Part in The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes

Lincolnshire Music Service is delighted to invite primary schools across the county to take part in an exciting musical collaboration with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) and Orchestras Live.

Schools are invited to join The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes, a vibrant community opera project culminating in a live performance at the Skegness Embassy Theatre Centre on Thursday 18 March 2027.

A Unique Performance Opportunity for KS2 Pupils

Pupils will have the opportunity to perform as part of a large children’s chorus alongside:

  • The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment
  • Four professional soloists
  • A secondary school band
  • The OAE Chorus

Written by Hazel Gould, with music by James Redwood and Henry Purcell, The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes offers children a memorable chance to experience the excitement of performing in a professional production.

The project is particularly suited to pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 and aims to inspire confidence, creativity and a love of music through high-quality performance experiences.

Comprehensive Support for Schools

Following a twilight teacher training session in November 2026, participating schools will receive a package of resources to support learning and rehearsal in school, including:

  • Sheet music and lyrics
  • Backing tracks

Lincolnshire Music Service staff, teachers and music specialists will work together to help pupils prepare for the performance.
