Lincolnshire Music Service wins Music Mark 2024 Award!
LMS were delighted to receive the ‘This Is Not A Rehearsal Sustainability Award’ last night at the annual Music Mark Awards.
Working with partners The Come and Sing Company, Scruffy Bear Media and Sea Us Rise, Lincolnshire Music Service set out to give the young people of Lincolnshire a voice in the fight against climate change, all through the power of song. ‘Sing to Change: Boston 2 Boston’ brought together 1,500 primary school children from Boston (UK) and Boston (USA), encouraging dialogue about climate change and the effect on their futures. Participants from eight deprived areas of Lincolnshire UK, and three US schools were recorded in both audio and visual, creating a music video of US eco-musician Dane Myers’ song ‘Change’ that was released globally. A film documenting the project captured some incredible moments, including a premiere screening of the video held at Kirton Primary, Boston UK, connecting in real time to Chelsea Public School, Boston US, so that cross-Atlantic bond and understanding could be deepened between the children.
